In June, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released “Post-Construction Performance Standards & Water Quality-Based Requirements: A Compendium of Permitting Approaches.” The document is a compendium of EPA and state municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permits. The permits included cover post-construction performance standards and effluent limitations that implement approved total maximum daily loads for impaired waterbodies.
This spring, the EPA also updated its online Catalog of Federal Funding Sources for Watershed Protection. It now includes the latest federal funding information for watershed protection and restoration programs from Fiscal Year 2014. The database of 85 programs is searchable and includes grants, loans and cost-sharing options. Information about each funding source includes a program description, details on program contacts, funding history, typical past award amounts, eligibility requirements, application deadlines, and matching funds and criteria requirements. Users can search by keyword, type of assistance, match-requirement, and more.
