In late June, the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) released BMP SELECT 2.0. This spreadsheet tool helps users conduct planning-level analyses of stormwater best management practices (BMPs). Users can compare life-cycle costs and pollutant-removal efficiencies of various practices under alternative scenarios. Simulate the control of total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total zinc in extended detention basins, bioretention areas, wetlands, swales, permeable pavement, and filters. The SELECT tool can be used to determine annual pollutant load reductions and estimate compliance with total maximum daily loads and other requirements. Download the tool here.
WERF is also hosting an overview and discussion of the tool on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EDT. Click here to register.
