On May 10 and 11, more than 100 utility leaders and stormwater experts gathered for Great Water Cities 2016: Rainfall to Results in Action. This event brought together thought leaders to devise solutions to stormwater challenges. The event used the 2015 publication Rainfall to Results: The Future of Stormwater as the starting point to focus the discussion.

Summit speakers discussed

  • new ways to drive investments in stormwater and wet weather,
  • approaches to asset management,
  • strategies for working across public and private properties in a watershed, and
  • new technologies and best practices.

The Institute for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern covered the event in the article, Addressing America’s Largest Growing Source of Water Pollution: Stormwater Runoff. Participants “discussed the dire need for infrastructure improvements as well as creative ways to fund such projects in the face of limited public dollars,” the article says.
