Partners, advocates, and “visionaries” continue to join the Australian 202020 Vision, launched in November 2013. The goal of the program is to create 20% more urban green spaces by 2020. The vision also represents a unique collaboration between government, academic, and private sectors.

The official launch was held in a future green space in Sydney, The Goods Line. It is a Sydney Harbor Foreshore Authority project to rejuvenate a disused rail line, which will provide pedestrian access from Broadway to Darling Harbor. At its launch, the program had more than 20 leading advocates, 50 partner organizations, and listed nearly 40 green projects throughout Australia. The vision offers a platform for mapping, measuring, publicizing, and supporting green space projects and advocates with the goal of inspiring governments, developers, and communities to create more green space.

According to the 202020 Vision website, more than 7.8 million m2 (3 mi2) of green space projects have been logged so far.
