Steven Trinkaus, principal engineer for Trinkaus Engineering, LLC, was invited to present in South Korea by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Smart GI and LID Research Group and the K-Water Institute on “Low Impact Development: Changing the Paradigm.” In addition to his eight-hour presentation on June 24, Trinkaus also attended and spoke at other workshops on low impact development (LID) during his week-long stay in South Korea. He visited the future site for Eco Delta City, which will incorporate LID from the ground up. He also visited flood control facilities for the Nakdong River, and experienced the rainfall simulator at Pusan National University.

While in South Korea, Trinkaus wrote a blog series for the Stormwater Report. Read about how South Korea is researching and planning for LID that works with the country’s unique environmental considerations.
