The Chesapeake Bay Trust recently opened its Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns grant program for applications. The program, funded in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Maryland Department of Natural Resources, supports the president’s Chesapeake Bay Protection and Restoration Executive Order. It funds the design and implementation of green infrastructure, urban tree canopy, and pervious surface projects as well as white papers on innovative green infrastructure concepts. The program has a particular focus on green streets.
The upper limits of funding range from $25,000 for white papers to $50,000 for design projects to $250,000 for implementation projects. The deadline for submitting applications is Feb. 14. Read about some of the winning projects unveiled in July 2013.
