WEF Offers Three Ways To Learn About User-Fee-Funded Stormwater Programs

51LkdDCblkL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_On Sept. 11, the Water Environment Federation (WEF) hosted a webcast on user-fee-funded stormwater utilities. The webcast is based on a new WEF publication also released in September — User-Fee-Funded Stormwater Programs. The webcast and the book cover best practices and creative approaches for developing stormwater fee programs and rate structures. The authors discuss changing requirements and  industry experience gained over the last 20 years as well as advances in technology that can help municipalities more accurately bill their customers, including geographic information systems (GIS) and new billing systems.

Learn about incentive programs and ways to tailor programs to local contexts and stakeholder needs. Authors also present a summary of lessons learned from 11 case studies. Watch a recording of the webcast, which was sponsored by Arcadis, Black & Veatch, and CH2M Hill.

At WEFTEC® 2013 in the Stormwater Pavilion Theater (Booth #5216), learn more about user-fee-funded stormwater programs. Laurens van der Tak, one of the book’s task force chairs and CH2M HILL’s Deputy Director for Water Resources and Ecosystems Management, will present at 3:00 pm.
