At the end of December, President Obama signed H.R. 2055, an omnibus fiscal year (FY) 2012 spending bill. The bill outlines federal government funding, allotting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency $8.4 billion — a 3.2% reduction from FY 2011 funding. The bill allocates $1.47 billion to the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF), a slight reduction from last fiscal year’s $1.5 billion. Within the Clean Water SRF, 10% is set aside for green infrastructure and water or energy efficiency improvements.
