Stormwater management has become crucial in the Middle East due to rapid growing cities, lack of adequate stormwater drainage networks, and the increase in rainfall in the past few years. Governments have increased the scope of activities and funding for this important area.

Based on this, Conference Director Basma Dawwas of the International Quality and Productivity Center – Middle East (IQPC) has put together an interactive map that will provide a quick glimpse into key stormwater drainage projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which have just started or will start development in the next 12 months.

For those interested in meeting and discussing solutions with key stakeholders working on some of these projects, come to the Stormwater Management Summit taking place in Abu Dhabi from October 19 to 22. Join Abu Dhabi Municipality, Dubai Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning Qatar and Department of Transport Abu Dhabi to discuss innovative flood prevention and stormwater management strategies.

IQPC is offering Water Environment Federation members a 15% discount off the standard price to attend this summit. Email enquiry@iqpc.ae or call +971 4 364 2975 using the code “WEFLIN” for more information and to register. This offer is valid only until 21 August 21.
